The Doors to Spring

I haven’t been walking enough since I came from South India. It was bereft of Spring and felt winter jumped to summer overnight but the northern part has been very kind in reaching out, in showing the colors.

These images found me calling on two different days I decided to leave my desk, looking out from my window when clouds seemed to be carrying rivers.

Sharing here just that bit of my April with you.

Hi, I am Narayan Kaudinya. And i welcome you on this journey, the Road to Nara ! I am an Ethnographer and a practicing Indologist. I did my masters in History and further learnt Sanskrit, Yoga and Nerve-therapy. At 24, pushing most academic sounding, office sitting works away, i felt compelled to know and understand the world and my country, Bharat/India. I travelled, and as it happened i took up teaching in Kashmir and further up in the remote villages of Baltistan in the foothills of Karakoram Ranges. For around three years and many states later there came a time when i felt that it was only while teaching i learnt how to laugh, to see, feel, breathe, love and cry -with children, and mostly resource-less parents in the harshest-freezing border conditions. I write, and work as a documentary photographer and Filmmaker, with numerous published, exhibited and some awarded stories. In my travels and life i have let nature lead me, the divine mother, and as a Yogin, my resolve here is to share my experiences and thoughts as honestly, and through them to blossom in everyone the power and possibility in pursuing your breath, that you seek your true nature with courage and curiosity. Here, on this road i will share my spirit, my love for nature, the elements of life that are us. And in doing so, i'll be happy to see you along.

The doors to spring? No, those are portals and magnificent ones! Looking
at those excellent photos take your breath away, never mind thoughts!
There is nothing more inspiring than the opulence of the first signs of spring, as it is a spiritual feeling of the new openings, the new growth happening in front of our eyes. It brings the desire to see more, to join the open road stretching ahead. It makes you want to look up to the sky and see the New Moon that brings new hope and new beginnings. The colors of spring are unique to this season alone and its vibrance lifts our spirit and rejuvenates our well-being. It is in spring that we feel newborn and ready for adventure as nature beacons. Down chorus wakes us to a new day, and nothing compares with such a start! Spring? Happy days!
Thank you, Narayan, for your apt reminder!

Thank you, Narayan, for your wonderful reply! This is the magic of nature that I revere as it grows beautiful plants and trees without any assistance from us. And I haven’t even mentioned the spring’s extraordinary, often double rainbows with the legendary pot of gold on one side. Your pictures awake a feeling of wonder and the desire to see and touch and tell those flowers how beautiful they are, and that they are the essence of the world.

Thank you again, Narayan, for showing us your world.

PS. There is also the intoxicating fragrance of spring as all the blooms are trying to outdo each other!

Yes, and these blooms just how they have grown without any human assistance made it all the more appreciative and wondrous. Thank you again my dearest.

Thanks Dr. Bob. Yes, sometimes its better to trust the arriving colors in real life than dreams taking hold of ones direction. Lovely to have your words here.

Thanks, Narayan, glad you like the Indian section on my blog. I love India though have only been there through real time, live tours online in which I could take pictures. And through my former Hindi teacher who lives in Lucknow and sends me videos. This love affair with India started with older Bollywood movies and then moved on from there. I look forward to seeing more of your posts on India.

This is intriguing Ellen. I am certain your love for India lies deeper than what you see in Bollywood. its may be the freedom of expression and profoundness of experience that is what perhaps is calling you. A close friend from Germany who now lives here has been feeling alike for the longest time. Happy to learn about you Ellen. Thanks

Thank you for sharing your spring. So lovely. You get bougainvillea, and Bird of Paradise, and hibiscus. Here in Vancouver we get cherry blossoms, tulips, daffodils, and magnolia. Spring is such a beautiful awakening.
