Tomorrow comes Daily

Slowly slowly as good days passed, hardest ones arrived. Three deaths and earning a bagful of silence later, we started sleeping again, or may be not. But mind does not change as of yet.

Because Ruts don’t dig themselves.

Most of the time, we’re in a rut because that’s precisely where we put ourselves.

Out of many, some actions become habits, and habits get repeated because they feel safe.

The easiest way to make things more interesting is to simply stop repeating your habitual behavior.

And that often comes from reacting to triggers. Remove the triggers and you can alter the habits.

Tiny changes. Different ways to keep score.

Tomorrow comes daily. But we don’t have to take the same route to get there.

Hi, I am Narayan Kaudinya. And i welcome you on this journey, the Road to Nara ! I am an Ethnographer and a practicing Indologist. I did my masters in History and further learnt Sanskrit, Yoga and Nerve-therapy. At 24, pushing most academic sounding, office sitting works away, i felt compelled to know and understand the world and my country, Bharat/India. I travelled, and as it happened i took up teaching in Kashmir and further up in the remote villages of Baltistan in the foothills of Karakoram Ranges. For around three years and many states later there came a time when i felt that it was only while teaching i learnt how to laugh, to see, feel, breathe, love and cry -with children, and mostly resource-less parents in the harshest-freezing border conditions. I write, and work as a documentary photographer and Filmmaker, with numerous published, exhibited and some awarded stories. In my travels and life i have let nature lead me, the divine mother, and as a Yogin, my resolve here is to share my experiences and thoughts as honestly, and through them to blossom in everyone the power and possibility in pursuing your breath, that you seek your true nature with courage and curiosity. Here, on this road i will share my spirit, my love for nature, the elements of life that are us. And in doing so, i'll be happy to see you along.

  1. So true Narayan. We are so happy in our so called routine or comfort zone, that most of us just exist and are not alive to the moments of life.
Hope the dark days have passed. Take care.

    • Radhika, yes and you know i feel there is always that curve, that moment, that accident which arrives as a signal, as pre cursor so as to warn. These are times of achieving supreme awareness.

      Thank you for writing Radhika.

  3. I also love the title, and it could, no, it will become an established saying, Your wisdom, my dear Narayan, illuminates the truth and is compelling in its clear, yet urgent message, we should change our ingrained habits to do better in life.

    • How is it possible that the one herself tells me she didn’t have words. You are becoming a language yourself. This essay was an eruption more than an expression dearest. Also that i couldn’t write for long, this seemed enough to dive in again.

  4. Narayan, thank you for this deep and wise article. Loving the title ” tomorrow becomes daily”, so much truth in it, if we cling to our daily habits we are so called safe, but we miss out on so many opportunities that may add more to brighten our horizon and open other doors we never have thought about. Have a blessed rest of the week.

    • Cornelia, we know it right, we live it but just wear out so much out of living, caring for ones we love and somewhere lose ourselves in it.

Hope you are doing things happily. Lovely to have you along. Narayan

  5. Habits are great for things like saying, “Thank you” and brushing your teeth. But a life lived by habit alone would be boring indeed! Great post, Narayan! ❤

    • haha, dearest Marlee, thank you for your lovely appearance of simple good assertion of leaving everything of yesterday to yesterday. Apologies for writing this late. While going through your wonderful, descriptive and educative blog i learnt about your book ‘Double Genealogy’. Many congratulation to you. It looks an important read. I will certainly come over and spend time knowing more about it and other works there are on the site.
